Since we were founded in 2002 we’ve been located on the same bench at Vision Park. Over those years we’ve had projects completed for doctorate-level students with only one drive and nothing backing up their files; science park companies whose storage outgrew its plan; fen pack houses; haulage companies; and many families that had every photo they’d taken of their family stored on a hard drive that began making a noise. A fixed price is agreed upon in writing prior to opening anything.
Each project is managed from start to finish by our engineers that answer the phones. We do not sub-contract any work to another company and we do not send customer jobs to other companies either.

No one calls a data recovery service because things are going well. People contact us when a deadline is looming, such as needing to submit something by Friday; a company can’t send invoices to others; an auditor requires documentation that will no longer load/open; or twenty years of photos are stored on a drive which is now making a noise it’s never made before. Explaining how we’ll perform the technical recovery work is relatively simple. Honestly explaining everything, including why we can’t recover your data (i.e., “no”), is harder.
This is also why this site is so blunt regarding things that cannot be done. Encryption (without a key), storage permanently soldered onto a laptop/Mac motherboard, files removed by TRIM from a functioning SSD, current-generation ransomware: all are closed to us. In a city where most of what we do has a time constraint associated with it, knowing that for free (and on day one) is far superior to finding out in week three and having to pay an invoice.

All devices are cloned sector-by-sector before anything else happens, and every rebuild will run against that clone image. There is nothing we do that will leave you worse off than when it arrived in our hands.

No subcontractors used and no data ever leaves the UK. One named engineer handles business and institutional projects from diagnostic to delivery. This matters when the material is regulated or subject to disclosure.
About one out of every nine jobs will get a no. Current ransomware, storage soldered on the motherboard, encryption without the key, data deleted from a solid state drive (SSD) and gone due to the use of TRIM: all are identified for free, and none of them are stated in an ambiguous or vague way.

“Is the diagnostic free, and is the quote fixed?” A quote that can become higher when the drive is opened is not a quote. Our quote is one figure, agreed before we start working on your drive, and it doesn't change.
“Do you charge a percentage of anything?” Percentage arrangements give data recovery firms an interest in what your data is worth, and in you believing that recovering your data is possible. We charge a set fee and take no share of anything.
“What can’t you recover?” This is the most useful question on the list. A company with no ready answer either lacks experience or refuses to say. Our answer is found on almost every page of this site.
“Who actually does the work?” Many UK data recovery companies subcontract their work outward, which means more hands, more transit time and more people with access to your data. We do all of our own work in-house, and your data remains in the United Kingdom at all times.
