We’ve had many versions of Microsoft Windows since the inception of the home and office desktop PC. Our data recovery Cambridge engineers have been recovering data from back in the days of Windows 3 and Windows 3.1 for Workgroups which were dainty little operating systems that functioned on a mere 1MB of RAM. How times have changed because nowadays in order for an operating system to function properly you need to be packing at least 1GB of RAM and a considerable amount of storage space; somewhere between 460MB and 1GB to ensure a safe install.
The problem seems to be however that as the technology and the operating systems have moved on, so too have the reasons for why the hard drives and other storage devices attached to them fail. This can be no truer of Microsoft’s current operating system Windows 8.1 which is being pushed as the next big thing (although at the time of writing Windows 9 is being touted for an autumn 2014 test). Our data recovery Cambridge engineers have been tasked with the job of assisting our clients – both old and new – as they try to recover data from hard drives that have been affected by Windows 8.1.
The problem with Windows 8.1 is a simple one to diagnosis but difficult to resolve; our hard drive recovery solutions are called upon to recover the data from hard drives that are no longer recognisable after the installation of Windows 8.1 onto a computer that has previously been running an older version of Windows, even the previous Windows 7. The issues are such that Windows 8.1 has an inherent failure to recognise and communicate with a great number of hard drives and other storage devices that were not formatted specifically for use with this particular operating system and the upshot is any hard drive or storage device attached to a Windows 8.1 installation will be rendered inaccessible.
1000s of parts in stock, experienced engineers on hand and a decade and a half’s experience – the premier data recovery solution in Cambridge
Our experience with all manner of operating systems is such that we have no difficulty in diagnosis the nature of the problem caused by the OS in relation to how it behaves alongside a hard drive or similar such storage device. Indeed our data recovery Cambridge engineers are often asked to help with not only problems relating to the operating system and conflicts between it and storage devices but also other types of software and firmware that govern how these storage devices function.
If you have recently installed a new operating system onto an existing hard drive only to find that the hard drive or other storage device no longer functions in the way that it should, contact our team of data recovery Cambridge experts on 01223 655015. They will be able to provide you with a no obligation quotation as well as a preliminary diagnosis of the problem and if you are happy for us to recover your data we ask that you send the affected storage device to us at our data recovery Cambridge and Cambridgeshire centre. (Our quotation to you may include an additional charge if the drive or storage device has suffered mechanical damage). You can send your malfunctioning storage device to us by post, courier or deliver it in person if you are able to.
Once we have the hard drive in our possession our data recovery Cambridge team will make a firm diagnosis of the problem and report back to you with our findings. We do this via email which allows us to provide you with a comprehensive list of all the data that can be successfully recovered from the itinerant drive. We list files, folders and directories and if you are happy with this we ask that you make payment to us by BACS or credit/debit card – we do not accept PayPal. If your data is more than 30GBs in volume and cannot be stored onto the data DVDs we provide as part of our quotation we may ask that you purchase an external storage device on which to save your data. Once payment has been received we will return your recovered data to you via next day courier service. For more information on how we can help reunite you with your lost or inaccessible data call our team today on 01223 655015; our telephone lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm as is our data recovery centre (we are closed Christmas Day and Easter).
