I have a Macbook Pro Z0G5 system which has been in use for some time. I had an old account on there, and I did not go to it for a while. I have a Macbook Pro Z0G5 laptop which is not working well for me. I cannot get it to go past the screen where the Apple logo is displayed. I can turn it on, and it will show me that logo, and then go into a blank screen which says that there was an error, and that I need to restart the computer. I know that there are some basic laptop repairs which I could do, including taking out the battery, and trying to run a reinstall in order to fix the OS. I have tried both of these, and have not had much success. So far it seems that the computer is not responding to my attempts to sort it out, it just reboots, and then goes back to the grey screen, and then on to the error message. I am starting to wonder if it is a hard drive or RAM problem, in which case these attempts to sort it out would not work. I desperately need the data from the drive.
